Mediation, An Alternative to Litigated Divorce

With the help of trained mediators and our team of professionals, couples address, negotiate and reach agreements on all the issues involved in a separation or divorce. This includes child custody, child support, a post separation parenting plan, spousal support, and division of assets and liabilities. Once the mediation is completed, an Agreement is drawn up that is specifically tailored to meet the needs of each individual.

Frequently Asked Questions about Mediation

Divorce does not have to be war. We focus on the preservation of the family and assist couples in creating new strategies as they transition their relationship and work toward a sound and workable co-parenting arrangement.  Learn more about how mediation works below.

What are some of the benefits of a mediated divorce?

Consider the difference between a battle and a negotiation.  Mediation is less contentious and therefore a mediated divorce costs less, takes less time and is less painful. While over 97 percent of divorces are settled by an agreement between the couple anyway, why expend the time, energy, and money fighting? Mediation just makes more sense for you, your children and your pocketbook.

What is Required to Mediate?

Mediation is a voluntary process. As long as the couple has a willingness to cooperate and negotiate in good faith, we can mediate any couple. It requires full disclosure and, as I said, a willingness to sit down and really work through these issues together to find common ground and common solutions.

Mediation worked for us.

“There is nothing easy about making a life altering decision. Ada’s compassion and straight forward answers to our most private matters and concerns were handled with dignity and grace. With Ada’s assistance, my former husband and I were able to navigate these waters with ease. Our divorce was not free from emotion, however, Ada skillfully approached those issues as we addressed the important decisions before us. We both felt our separate needs were addressed and were handled in a professional and benevolent manner.
