An acquaintance was describing a situation that he found he couldn’t tolerate — he had an intolerance for somebody else’s ability to tolerate something. That started me thinking and what popped into my head was I felt that his intolerance for her tolerance was intolerable to me. This is that endless loop that creates so much trouble in the world. It’s like what we call an ouroboros which is a snake biting its own tail — there’s no beginning and there is no end.
