In mediation, we ask all the expected questions about what the couples want to do with their property; what the custody arrangement is going to be with their children and so forth. When I ask about pets, they are often surprised and act as if it’s not a big deal. But the truth? It really IS a big deal. And it’s a very big deal especially when they’ve got kids.
